This kind of artwork has adorned homes across the world over the years and its popularity has not died down. In fact, many interior designers are bringing this attractive element into their home decorating ideas. Metal wall décor has real staying power when it comes to decorating a home.

These natural elements are appealing to people on many levels. First of all they are made of quality material. Metal wall décor is commonly created out of wrought iron but some is developed out of stainless steel and other metals as well. Some people think of this material as cold and unwelcoming but if it is presented right it is quite the opposite.

My husband is a sheet metal worker who likes to dabble in design on the side. He has created some wonderful objects out of the material but my personal favorite is his collection of metal wall décor. He spent a lot of time on these creations but the end result has been worth the time and effort.

We wanted to create a rustic environment without having a lot of blatantly cowboy and Indian themed rooms throughout the house. I collected some rustic furnishings for our family room that made the area look almost like a cabin retreat. However, there was something missing from the room that I couldn’t pinpoint until I saw the metal wall décor items my husband was arranging in his shop.

The abstract art had little meaning to anyone just passing by. However, if you have ever been in our family room you would know that the rustic elements in this metal wall décor secretly held Native American symbols and signs. My husband chose to incorporate his heritage to his designs and he created some masterpieces in this collection.

The metal wall décor is representative of a sand painting that we have housed in the family room. My husband artistically recreated elements found in the beautiful painting in a three dimensional form that is truly breathtaking. You have to see the painting and the metal wall décor beside one another to get the full impact of the design.

This artistic endeavor has me looking around the house for more inspiration. The metal wall décor may take a lot of time and effort to finish but the product is so wonderful. I hope that the set will be passed down for generations to come.
